When we started this band, we knew that we were heading into a, rather complicated direction. We didn’t do it because of the ‘dream’ of becoming famous, orang kita kata ‘glamer’, like how it was sold to us through MTV and entertainment magazines. Malaysia is a bit different in the creative landscape and with a name like ours, you’d know that we intended to go against the grain – against the glitz and glam of balada pop and rock leleh culture that have been dominating the airwaves for decades. We started this band because we wanted to tell stories.
I’m proud to say that Malaysia has the best stories out there — like a wilderness of exciting tales waiting to be filmed for Netflix. Stories that we, Malaysians, own for ourselves, and the kinds that will live on and pass down to next generations. We, as a band of storytellers, we want to continue telling this story: your story. We want to sing about what or who you love, lift your spirits up, and champion your ambitions, so that you know that you’re not alone and the world is currently listening; be it via Spotify, Youtube or even TikTok.
Malaysians, you inspire us every day. So let us serenade you, and together, let’s play all our roles to create new stories for each other.
